Needs Analysis


There are many ESL students entering our schools. They need much assistance learning English and transitioning into the school environment. Books like ours are needed because they provide students with both language translations, provide new information, & identify with the students. Task Analysis

After becoming familiar with the needs and characteristics of our learner, the tasks were developed. This task analysis shows step by step the process of creating our Bookbuilder book and presenting it to our learner.

Task Analysis of Creating & Presenting Our Book
1. Review needs and learner characteristics to understand how the book should be developed. (Look at strengths and weaknesses of learner.)
2. Develop/gather images for book that the learner can identify with.
3. Create outline/storyboard to help organize the curriculum, objectives, and skills in the book.
4. Develop book (placing all graphics, literature, and audio together).
5. Plan instruction and determine classroom activities that support the book and the learner.
6. Determine instructional strategies you will use to present the book and activities.
7. Present book and related activities using previously planned instruction!
